MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) - Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and his wife met the heads of the diplomatic missions and offices of international organizations accredited in Belarus and their spouses on 19 December on the occasion of the Christmas and New Year holidays, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In his greeting speech Vladimir Makei summed up the results of the outgoing year and wished the guests Happy New Year and Christmas. He also wished them good health and well-being and also peace, harmony and prosperity to the peoples of the foreign countries.

The participants visited the agroecotourism center Bely Los (White Moose) to learn more about the opportunities for active leisure in Belarus, the country’s national traditions in this field, and the advantages of eco-tourism.

Vladimir Makei and his spouse hold meetings with heads of diplomatic missions every year, the ministry noted. Foreign diplomats get familiarized with Belarus’ cultural and historical heritage, which promotes the traditions of Belarus’ hospitality.
