MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – The 2026 UEC Track Juniors and U23 European Championships have concluded in Cottbus, Germany, featuring Belarusian athletes, BelTA has learned.
The continental forum wrapped up with the Madison events – a pair-based endurance race. In the junior women’s category, Belarus’ Aryna Stryha and Vasilina Tserakhava finished fifth, while Dzianis Baranouski and Ilya Yankouski placed seventh in the junior men’s race. In the U23 division, Belarusian pair Alina Karotkina and Kseniya Shynkarenka took ninth place, with Mikita Babovich and Viachaslau Shpakouski also securing a ninth-place finish in the men’s event.
Belarusian cyclists will bring home five medals from Cottbus: three gold, one silver, and one bronze. Palina Konrad became a two-time European champion in the U23 category, celebrating victories in both the Omnium and the Elimination race. Meanwhile, Angelina Shastak claimed gold in the junior time trial, while also taking bronze in the Sprint. In the U23 Team Pursuit, the quartet of Konrad, Shynkarenka, Karotkina, and Adelina Sakun finished as runners-up.
