Film about BELARUS tractors wins grand prix of international festival in United StatesMINSK, 23 June (BelTA) – The Breadwinner video has won the Grand Prix and Golden Camera in the Corporate nomination at the 50th edition of the U.S. International Film & Video Festival, BelTA learned form Aleksei Shevtsov, the head of advertising and exhibitions at OAO Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark).

He noted that the 17-minute video about the Belarusian tractor was recognized as the best among 2,000 entries from more than 50 countries. The film tells a story about the life of the tractor BELARUS working in different countries. The protagonists of the video are real farmers, for whom the tractor has become the main partner in the work and family breadwinner.

“When developing the ideas for the video we wanted to move away from the stereotypes and get the attention of not only the target audience. Because it is not about the mass market and not even about the vehicle. The video is a first-person narrative by a tractor telling the viewers how it helps grow different crops in different countries. This is a touching story about the tractor and its owner working shoulder-to-shoulder.

The film has already become a cause for national pride scoring over 1 million views in the first month after it was posted on the Internet. The film was shot in Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Nicaragua, the RSA, Norway, Pakistan, Egypt, and the Caucasus. The film shows BELARUS tractors working in these countries. The promotional video was produced by LBL Production from Novosibirsk, Russia. Minsk Tractor Works was the sponsor/customer of the video.

Apart from the Grand Prix of the U.S. festival, Breadwinner won the Grand Prix of the 6th Moscow International Festival of Corporate Video and two silver medals at The Cannes Corporate Media & TV.

The U.S. International Film & Video Festival is the oldest private festival of the United States. It was founded in Chicago in 1967 as a competition of industrial films and was sponsored by local companies. Winners get the Gold Camera and can nominate for the Best of Festival Award.
