Father of 11 from Vileika District thanks Lukashenko

VILEIKA, 7 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko spoke with local residents during a working trip to Vileika District. Among them was the large Filistovich family, BelTA has learned.

Mikhail and Olesya Filistovich are raising eleven children of their own. The family took a plot of land in a village and runs their own farm. Aleksei admits that not everything is going perfectly yet, but they are not giving up and are doing their utmost to create a comfortable home. “We took a plot of land, 50 hectares. We’ve cultivated 20 so far. We came to say a big thank you,” the father of many children told the president.

“Eleven children and 20 hectares of land, well done!” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

This year, the Filistovich family received an unexpected and much-needed gift from the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee: a spacious minibus that allows the parents to easily transport all the children. One of the daughters, Yekaterina, had asked Minsk Oblast Governor Aleksei Kushnarenko to shake the head of state’s hand on her behalf. As it turned out, she was able to do so in person during the conversation with the president. The girl also confessed that she wants to become a crane operator in the future. Aleksandr Lukashenko appreciated her unusual choice. “Well, you’ve really set your sights high! I’m afraid of heights myself,” he said.

To wrap up, the large family took a souvenir photo with the president. “Eleven children is a rare thing, well done,” Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked once again.
