Exhibits from Palace of Grand Dukes of Lithuania to go on display in Nesvizh

MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) - The exhibition from the holdings of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania of Lithuania (Vilnius) at the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve at Nesvizh gives an insight into the daily life of the world’s might Vitaut, Hiedymin, and the Jagiellonians, BelTA from in the Culture Ministry of Belarus.

The exhibition is titled as “The Archaeological Finds of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Daily Life of the Royal Court”. It features the materials of the archaeological research conducted over many years in the Palace and shows how the Grand Ducal Residence was decorated, how it was defended, what its residents had for breakfast and how their daily life was arranged.

The exhibition consists of several sections: tiles, kitchen, armaments, hygiene, jewelry and ornaments. The archaeological finds are accompanied by extensive notes, explanatory text stands, illustrations, texts to each section.

A tour of the exhibition is constructed in such a way as to tell a visitor the fullest story about the life of the Grand Ducal Residence in the 14th-17th centuries.

The exhibition is meant for all those who are interested in the history of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and its rulers, students, professional archaeologists, specialists in tangible culture, and a wide range of visitors.

The exhibition will be running from 29 April till 19 September.
