Diego Maradona willing to settle down in Belarus

BREST, 16 July (BelTA) – The legendary football player Diego Maradona is open to the idea of ending his career in the Belarusian city of Brest and staying there to live. Diego Maradona made the relevant statement at a press conference in Brest on 16 July, BelTA has learned.

Diego Maradona thanked FC Dynamo Brest for the invitation to chair the football club’s board. “I saw that it is a serious project. If I end my career in Brest, I may stay here to live,” said the former player of the Argentinian national football team.

Diego Maradona stressed it was a great honor for him to be there in a new status. “I am grateful for their signing me up. It was one of the best things to happen to me in my life. I thought that in my age I didn’t have time to take a team and make it great. I will try to accomplish that with FC Dynamo Brest. I want to give them the best out of my football career, the experience I’ve accumulated during many championships. I had three offers. I’ve chosen this one because I liked a lot the attitude and the willingness of people, who’d come from Belarus,” said Diego Maradona.

Speaking about the world football championship that has just ended in Russia, the legendary football player noted that its organization had been outstanding, all the details had been taken into account.

Diego Maradona met with the club today and will see the game FC Dynamo Brest vs FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk.
