BORISOV AND ZHODINO, 2 May (BelTA) – Representatives of Chinese mass media, who arrived in Belarus for the sake of a mass media tour, visited the Belarusian-Chinese car factory BelGee and the Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ on 2 May, BelTA has learned.

Chinese employees of the BelGee joint venture arranged a tour of the enterprise under construction for the Chinese reporters. The enterprise is supposed to become Belarus’ key car manufacturing site in the future. The construction of a factory that will use completely knocked down kits (CKD) in addition to welding, painting, and assembly operations to make cars began between the Belarusian cities of Borisov and Zhodino in late March 2015. The new enterprise will occupy 118ha and is getting ready to employ 1,300 people. Initially the factory will make up to 60,000 cars per annum. Later on the output will be increased.

It will be possible to sell the end product — Geely cars — in other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, too,” said Vladimir Pavlovich.
