Call to search for new ways to present the Belarusian culture

MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) – We need to search for new ways to present and promote the Belarusian culture, Belarus’ Culture Minister Yuri Bondar said at a board ministerial meeting on 6 February, BelTA has learned.

“We need new ideas and forms of presentation of the Belarusian culture in the world, with the use of information technologies,” the minister said.

In 2017 Belarus signed 11 treaties in culture. Each organization of the culture sector must get involved and help implement these treaties, harness the opportunities for direct contacts with foreign colleagues, the minister stressed. The Culture Ministry organized the Days of Belarusian Culture in six countries. The organizations affiliated with the ministry had an opportunity to increase their visibility and to network. Yet, some of the agreements still remain on paper, Yuri Bondar noted.

The minister urged to revise the approach to foreign business trips for heads of cultural organizations with the major goal to sign agreements and establish long-term contracts. Cultural organizations should have up-to-date websites and make them available in several foreign languages, expand their presence in the social networks, and take a more active part in international projects.
