Buddhist art from Hermitage to be displayed in Belarus

MINSK, 5 May (BelTA) - An exhibition of Buddhist art from the Hermitage Museum (Russia) will be arranged in Belarus in the autumn of this year, Director General of the Belarusian National Art Museum Vladimir Prokoptsov said during an online conference hosted by BelTA.

An exhibition of Buddhist art will be arranged in Belarus on the proposal of Director General of the State Hermitage Museum Mikhail Piotrovsky. This exhibition has recently been on display in the Hermitage. Now the work is underway to prepare a list of 60-70 works for display in museums of Belarus. The exhibition will feature works of Buddhist art and several sculptures. The exhibition will be abridged as compared to the one displayed in the Hermitage.

The exhibition is scheduled to open at the National Art Museum of Belarus in September. Then it will be displayed in the Palace of the Rumiantsevs and Paskevichs in Gomel.
