MINSK, 15 November (BelTA) - The Belarusian State University team has won first place at the RoboCup Asia-Pacific (RCAP) 2025 which concluded in Abu Dhabi, BelTA learned from the university's press service.
The winning team consisted of first-year students Mikhail Maistruk and Gleb Davidovich and third-year student Vladislav Golik. The Belarusian students took first place in RoboCupJunior Soccer Lightweight. Second place was secured by e-sports athletes from Russia, while the team from the Republic of Korea finished in third place.
The intellectual tournament featured a series of robotic soccer games, where the robots had been pre-modeled and programmed for autonomous operation. The model presented by BSU at the championship was fully assembled and developed by the university's students. Ultimately, its intellectual capabilities were recognized as the best among all participants. The competition was organized in a playoff format, where the winning robot was the one that scored a goal against its opponent. Each robotic player independently calculated the opponent's tactics and strategy, determined the force needed to kick the ball, and charted the trajectory for scoring a goal.
The tournament in the UAE capital attracted over 700 schoolchildren and university students from 22 countries. Belarus was also represented by two teams of schoolchildren from Gomel. In early November, the BSU team also won a gold medal at the international robotics festival RoboFinist 2025 in Russia's Kronstadt.
