Best mushers to gather for dog sledding festival in Logoisk District

MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – The international mushers’ festival Northern Dogs will take place in Logoisk District on 30 January, BelTA learnt from the Minsk Oblast sport and tourism department.

“Partaking in the races will be the best mushers from Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine and other countries,” specialists said.

The festival will feature skijoring competitions and sled dog races. The program will also include exciting dog sled and 4-wheeler rides, broomball and mega volleyball matches, games for children and many other memorable events. Visitors will also be offered Siberian and Japanese saunas. The bravest will be invited to take part in ice-hole jumping.

The event will be held at the Expeditsiya picnic hotel in the village of Oktyabr, Logoisk District and will start at 12pm (Minsk time). The entry is free for children under 10 and those bringing along their dogs of northern breeds.

The festival is organized by the Sport and Tourism Ministry of Belarus, the Logoisk District Executive Committee and the Expeditsiya picnic hotel. The general partner is the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange.
