MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – The Bel:Cinema Industry platform of the 26th Minsk International Film Festival Listapad will discuss the financing of film projects, coordinator of the platform Lizaveta Bobrikova told the media, BelTA has learned.

“Bel:Cinema Industry platform will run at the Belarusfilm Studio on 5-8 November. Its major theme will be the discussion of project financing at the development stage. Such issues cause difficulties, especially with young cinematographers,” Lizaveta Bobrikova said.

Open Conversation: Creative Europe, Eurimage and Other International Funds Supporting Cinematography with speaker Konstantin Vorobyov is scheduled for 6 November. Participants will focus on providing financial support to international projects. “Next day, Editor-in-Chief of the national film studio Anton Sidorenko will hold a presentation talk Belarusfilm: Need for a Blockbuster. To the Problem of a National Film. Anton Sidorenko will speak about the ways for young and talented filmmakers and scriptwriters to get to the studio and offer their projects,” the platform coordinator added.

The program on 7 November will feature workshops “How to get an international film grant. Practice without theory” by filmmaker, producer and founder of the Grant Buro project and Buta Films Company Maria Ivanova, and also "Distribution of Documentaries: Cinemas, TV Channels, Film Festivals” by B2B Doc.

According to Lizaveta Bobrikova, Bel:Cinema Industry events include classical sections – pitchings that help local projects get professional assessment and earn accreditation for the major festival. “A lot of interesting applications, both documentaries and feature films, have been submitted this year. We are going to welcome our friends from the Vilnius and Odessa international film festivals, and also representatives of the Bozar Center for Fine Arts in Brussels who will speak about their Bridges Festival, take part in a free jury and, perhaps, invite someone. Representatives of the Grant Buro project will also come this year. This is Russia’s first company that helps get grants for cinema projects,” she said.

Education projects with ADAMI Studio and B2B Doc will be continued with a seminar to develop documentary scripts and a seminar on feature film and documentary projects at the editing stage.

Virtual Reality Day is slated for 7 November. Its program will comprise immersive cinema, workshops, and a special guest from France, a representative of one of the most influential companies in VR content production and distribution.

The 26th edition of the Minsk International Film Festival Listapad will be held on 1-8 November 2019 under the slogan “To Joy”. The founders of the festival are the Culture Ministry of the Republic of Belarus and the Minsk City Hall. The organizer is Visual and Performing Arts Center Art Corporation.
