MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) – Belarusian swimmers won ten medals on the opening day of the Ganja Cup 2026 international swimming tournament in Azerbaijan, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Sports.
The Belarusian team collected six gold and four silver medals. Alisa Belaya claimed two breaststroke titles, winning the 50m and 200m events. Palina Bialiauskaya also became a double champion after taking gold in the 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle. Maksim Mashliakevich secured another victory for Belarus in the 50m breaststroke.
Matsvei Danilau won gold in the 400m freestyle and added a silver medal in the 200m butterfly. Valeryia Shylko earned two silver medals after finishing second in the 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly, while Pavel Yafimenka took silver in the 100m freestyle. The competition in Ganja will conclude on 7 August.
