Belarusian students win medals at Technocup programming Olympiad in Moscow

MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Fifteen Belarusian students have won medals at the Technocup 2020 programming Olympiad in Moscow, competitive programming coach, teacher of the Mozyr young firemen club Aleksei Borunov told BelTA.

The Olympiad final took place on 1 March at 17 venues of seven countries – Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine. All in all, taking part in the Olympiad rounds were more than 4,500 students, 578 of them advanced to the final after four qualifying rounds. They needed to solve eight algorithmic tasks within three hours. Their programs were sent to Codeforces website to be checked. The one who correctly wrote the largest number of programs and sent them for testing before others topped the scoreboard.

The Olympiad diplomas were awarded to 114 participants, 15 of them were Belarusian students. The first degree diplomas went to Sergei Protsky (Lyceum of the Belarusian State University), and Stanislav Damasevich (Mozyr young firemen club).

The second degree diplomas went to Andrei Kostyanoy (Gomel gymnasium No.51), Andrei Mishchenko and Yegor Kuchar (Mozyr young firemen club).

The third degree diplomas went to Yaroslav Borisov (Vitebsk gymnasium No.8), Pavel Sankin, Denis Logunov, Vladislav Anokhov (Lyceum of the Belarusian State University), Konstantin Smirnov, Yulia Drozdova (Vitebsk gymnasium No.1), Anton Kernozhytsky (Mogilev gymnasium No.2), Anton Kharrasov (Gomel gymnasium No.10), Maksim Shishkov (Vitebsk secondary school No.41) and Daniil Zabavsky (Minsk gymnasium No.10).

The organizers of the Olympiad are the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.

This academic year, the competition has been included in the list of school Olympiads and is of the first level, which entitles the winners to receive benefits for admission to many higher educational institutions in Russia.
