Belarusian statistics agency releases national balance sheet

MINSK, 9 January (BelTA) - Belarus' National Statistical Committee Belstat has calculated Belarus’ national wealth, BelTA learned from the press service of Belstat.

Belstat, for the first time, has conducted an experimental compilation of a balance sheet. “The National Statistical Committee has developed a system for assessing the national wealth. In 2023, Belarus’ national wealth was estimated at Br1.655 billion,” Belstat said.

The press service also noted that the valuation of all assets and liabilities in the balance sheet was conducted based on current market prices. The format for presenting the balance sheet of assets and liabilities will be adjusted in stages. Currently, work is underway to assess the value of water resources.
