MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian State University is one of the three best universities in the Commonwealth of Independent States, the University’s press service told BelTA.

Results of another update of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities have been published. The ranking takes into account information about 22,000 higher education institutions while there are over 30,000 higher education institutions across the globe. The Belarusian State University ranks 612^th in the global ranking, 61 positions up the chart. The Belarusian State University is one of the top three universities in the CIS along with the Lomonosov Moscow State University (129^th) and the Saint Petersburg State University (539^th). In the neighboring countries the top universities include the Vilnius University (681^st), the Latvian University (901^st), and the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (937th).
