Belarusian State University 25th in QS ranking

Belarusian State University 25th in QS ranking

MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – Belarusian State University (BSU) placed 25th in the ranking of the top universities in emerging Europe and Central Asia (QS EECA) released by the British agency QS on 15 October, BelTA learned from the BSU press service.

“The ranking features 350 top universities out of over 2900 universities of the region. Thus, the BSU is among the top 1% of the best universities in this region,” the press service noted.

The QS EECA ranking assesses nine criteria: academic reputation, employer reputation, the faculty/student ratio, the share of staff with a PhD, international faculty, international students, web impact, the number of papers per faculty, and the number of citations per paper.

The BSU ranked high thanks to such criteria as academic reputation, employer reputation, and the faculty/student ratio. This indicates that the teaching quality in the BSU is high, because the assessment was based on the opinion of international experts, the press service added.

The QS EECA ranking also features Belarusian National Technical University (103rd), Belarusian University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (158th), and Yanka Kupala Grodno State University (195th).

Russia’s Lomonosov Moscow State University, Saint Petersburg State University, and Novosibirsk State University occupy the top three positions.

The ranking of the top universities of Eastern Europe and Central Asia includes universities of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, and Ukraine.
