MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) – The State Chamber Orchestra of Belarus conducted by Yevgeny Bushkov has successfully performed during the Stay in May festival in Naples, State of Florida, USA, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

The press service described the visit of Belarus’ leading musical collective to the USA as a remarkable event in the cultural life of the United States of America and an important component of the Belarusian efforts aimed at improving relations with the USA.

The chamber orchestra was invited to perform during the festival by the festival’s artistic director William Noll. The orchestra presented a concert “Music of Belarus” that featured an extensive program made up of works by Belarusian composers. A dulcimer and orchestra concert was particularly appealing to the American public.

The orchestra also performed together with the laureate of international contests, solo violinist Nadir Khashimov. The listeners were treated to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The crowded church located in the center of the city was filled with captivating sounds of the famous work by the Italian composer. The outstanding performance of the soloist and the intricate accompaniment by the Belarusian orchestra resulted in a thunderous ovation.

Apart from that, a concert for representatives of the Belarusian diaspora was arranged in the city of North Port with assistance of the mayor. Charge d’Affaires of Belarus in the USA Pavel Shidlovsky and Honorary Consul of Belarus in the State of Florida Mikhail Morgulis also attended the concert.

The visit to the USA has been arranged with assistance of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Culture Ministry as well as the Embassy of Belarus in the USA and the Honorary Consulate of Belarus in the State of Florida.
