Belarusian Palina Brahinets claims bronze at U17 World Wrestling Championships

MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) - Belarusian Palina Brahinets won a bronze medal in the -65kg category at the 2026 U17 World Wrestling Championships, BelTA has learned.

In the first round, Palina Brahinets defeated Lana Pezic from Croatia; in the quarterfinals, she advanced past Russian Maria Shanina; but in the semifinals, she lost to Ariunzul Boldbaatar from Mongolia. In the bronze medal match, the Belarusian defeated Ukrainian Iryna Bukhtina 11-0.

In 2025 and 2026, Palina Brahinets became the European champion among girls under 17. Two years ago, Brahinets won bronze at the U17 World Wrestling Championships in Jordan.
