CHISINAU, 6 April (BelTA) - Children of the Belarusians in Moldova took part in the ancient folk rite The Calling of Spring, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Moldova.

A master class on the rite was organized for the children of the Belarusians in Moldova who attend the Sunday school running at the Embassy of Belarus in Moldova to study the language, history, culture, traditions and customs of their ethnic homeland. The musical-theatrical event organized by the Belarusian cultural movement in Moldova and the Belarusian Embassy in Chisinau was attended by members of the Belarusian community of Moldova, representatives of the Association of the Belarusians of the Moldovan capital, and other Belarusian ethno-cultural organizations.

The children made a presentation of the Belarusian rite which celebrates the arrival of spring and bids farewell to winter, prepared drawings and crafts for the holiday. The guests took an active part in contests and in a festive round dance.
