Belarusian delegation to leave for Eurovision 2019 on 3 May

MINSK, 2 May (BelTA) – The official Belarusian delegation, including singer ZENA, her team and representatives of Belteleradiocompany, will leave for Israel to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 on 3 May, BelTA has learned.

“ZENA, as all other participants of the contest, will hold a number of rehearsals in Tel Aviv, the first of which will take place on 4 May. The Belarusian entry will hold her second rehearsal on 9 May. She will also give a number of press conferences,” the press service said.

This year the Eurovision press center will see about 1,600 reporters from Israel and other countries. Press conferences with the representatives of 41 participating countries will be organized on 4-12 May. Tel Aviv will welcome thousands of foreign tourists. About 500 volunteers will help the song contest happen. More than 200 million TV viewers from all over Europe and other countries will be able to watch the contest.

The Euroweek will be officially launched at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art on 12 May, with the participation of the Belarusian delegation. The red carpet of the contest will be replaced by an orange one this year. The Orange Carpet event will take on Sunday, 12 May, at the famous Habima Square in Tel Aviv, with the opening ceremony scheduled to take place in Habima Theatre.

Belarus will compete in the European popular song contest for the 16th time. The official representative of Belarus at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest ZENA with the song “Like It” will perform 8th in the first semifinal on 14 May. The second semifinal will be held on 16 May, and the final of the show on 18 May. The TV channel Belarus 1 and the international satellite TV channel Belarus 24 will broadcast the show live.

Belteleradiocompany is responsible for preparing the participant from Belarus for the Eurovision Song Contest as Belarus' only member of the European Broadcasting Union.
