Belarusian, Chinese journalists to make documentaries about two countries

MINSK, 22 August (BelTA) – The First Belarusian-Chinese Media Forum and the shooting of documentaries about the two countries were discussed at the 2019 Beijing International Book Fair, BelTA learned from the Information Ministry.

On the sidelines of the expo, Belarus Deputy Information Minister Igor Buzovsky and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Kirill Rudy met with Deputy Head of the State Administration of Radio and Television of the People's Republic of China Fan Weiping. Representatives of the Belarusian and Chinese delegations discussed a bilateral cooperation strategy in mass media and book publishing.

The Chinese side upheld the proposal to extend the 2015 memorandum of cooperation between the Information Ministry of Belarus and the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China.

Top on the agenda was also the Belarusian-Chinese Media Forum to be held in Belarus in 2020. This event will bring together mass media representatives of the two countries. “A proposal has been put forward to exchange television crews to shoot documentaries about our countries, culture and contemporary authors. Fan Weiping is interested in formalizing the initiatives in the updated memorandum. He emphasized the importance of this document and suggested signing it during the next meeting of the two heads of states - Aleksandr Lukashenko and Xi Jinping", the the Information Ministry added.
