Belarusian Basketball Federation to develop cooperation with FIBA

MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – Chairman of the Belarusian Basketball Federation and First Vice President of the National Olympic Committee, President’s aide in the matters of physical education, sport and tourism development Maksim Ryzhenkov paid an official visit to the headquarters of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) in Switzerland where he met with FIBA President Horacio Muratore and Secretary General Patrick Baumann, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Basketball Federation.

The meeting highlighted the issues of strengthening cooperation, implementation of joint projects with Belarus, FIBA assistance in enhancing the professional level of the coaching and referee staff at the Belarusian Basketball Federation, expansion of the Belarusian representation in the international federation and coordination of efforts to promote wheelchair basketball. Maksim Ryzhenkov named the meeting important and fruitful and stressed that he is determined to continue developing cooperation with FIBA.

Maksim Ryzhenkov also visited the Basketball History Museum and expressed confidence that the similar museum should be developed in Belarus.
