Belarusian athletes keep their spots in WTA ahead of Ostrava Open

MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) – All the Belarusian athletes kept their spots intact in the recent WTA rankings, BelTA has learned.

Aryna Sabalenka remained 12th with 3675 points. Victoria Azarenka is 14th with 3,122 points. Aliaksandra Sasnovich goes 93rd with 798 points. Olga Govortsova is 130th with 570 points. This week Aryna Sabalenka and Victoria Azarenka are expected to play at the 2020 Ostrava Open.

WTA Top Ten:

1. Ashleigh Barty (Australia) – 8,717 points
2. Simona Halep (Romania) – 7,255
3. Naomi Osaka (Japan) – 5,780 
4. Sofia Kenin (United States) – 5,760
5. Elina Svitolina (Ukraine) – 5,260 
6. Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic) – 5,205
7. Bianca Andreescu (Canada) – 4,555

Egor Gerasimov goes 87th with 755 points in the ATP rankings. Ilya Ivashka is 129th with 478 points. On 18 October Egor Gerasimov reached the main draw in Cologne. The Belarusian player will face Germany’s world number 124 Daniel Altmaier in the round of Last 32.
