Belarusian air carrier considering direct air service between Minsk, Ukrainian Kherson

MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian air carrier Belavia is considering the possibility of establishing air service between Minsk and the Ukrainian city of Kherson, BelTA learned from Igor Cherginets, Belavia’s Deputy Director General for Marketing and Foreign Economic Affairs.

The executive confirmed that negotiations with a delegation of the Kherson International Airport had been held in Minsk several days before. The sides discussed establishing air service between Minsk and Kherson. “It is an interesting proposal. Everything depends on the terms the Ukrainian side will offer us,” noted Igor Cherginets.

In order to evaluate the economic advisability of regular flights between Minsk and Kherson and calculate the cost of flights and the price for tickets, Belavia has requested information about airport fees in the Kherson airport and possible preferences for the airport services.

Belavia is Belarus’ largest air carrier. Based in the Minsk National Airport, the air carrier offers regular flights from Minsk to 49 destinations in 28 countries. The company operates a fleet of 26 aircraft, including five Boeing 737-800, six Boeing 737-500, seven Boeing 737-300, two Embraer 175, two Embraer 195, and four CRJ100 and CRJ200.
