MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – The Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater intends to continue running the Week of the Kupala Theater Online project, BelTA learned from the theater.

“We are currently negotiating with copyright owners in order to show spectators more productions from our video archives,” the theater said.

The Yanka Kupala Theater is running the Week of the Kupala Theater Online project from 27 March to 2 April, showing performances from the theater’s repertoire for spectators from Belarus and other countries. “We have already presented two performances. Around 20,000 viewers watched the legendary Paulinka production online on World Theater Day on 27 March. The School for Tax-Payers online stream on 29 March attracted around 10,000 people from Belgium, the USA, Italy, Spain, Canada, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, France, and other countries. This means that more than 30,000 people watched productions of the Yanka Kupala Theater in the past few days,” the theater noted.

On 31 March, the theater will present the Weltmeister Accordion production. The online stream of The Harvest, one of the productions performed on the Chamber Stage of the theater, is scheduled for 2 April. Links to online streams will be available on the theater’s website and the social network accounts from 18:00 on the day of the stream to 9:00 next day.
