Belarus wins eight medals at LA Lights 2019

MINSK, 30 January (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won eight (three gold, two silver and three bronze) medals at the 2019 LA Lights Tournament of Champions in the United States, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Gymnastics Association.

The Belarusian national team included Katsiaryna Halkina, Alina Harnasko, Anastasia Salos and Yulia Evchik.

The Ukrainian team were the main rivals to Belarus. Performing in the United States were Vlada Nikolchenko, Olena Diachenko, Victoria Onoprienko and Yeva Meleshchuk.

Anastasia Salos (20,400 points), Katsiaryna Halkina (20,250) and Alina Harnasko (19,500) were the best in the Hoop event. Alina Harnasko scored 18,800 points to place third in the Ball event.

Alina Harnasko won the Clubs routine with the total of 22,200 points. Second was Yulia Evchik (20,000), third – Anastasia Salos (19,000).

Ukraine’s Vlada Nikolchenko, Olena Diachenko and Yeva Meleshchuk occupied the Ribbon podium.

The All-Around gold went to Alina Harnasko (76,600 points). Silver went to Vlada Nikolchenko (75,100). Bronze was collected by Olena Diachenko (73,550). Anastasia Salos finished fifth (69,750). Katsiaryna Halkina placed sixth (68,150), Yulia Evchik – tenth (63,800).

The next rhythmic gymnastics competitions, the Grand Prix in Moscow, are scheduled for 16-17 February.
