Belarus win over 360 medals at international tournaments in 2024

MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) - Belarusian athletes won 363 medals at international competitions last year, BelTA learned from the press service of the Sport and Tourism Ministry of Belarus.

Deputy Sport and Tourism Minister Aleksandr Baraulia spoke about the achievements of Belarusians in the international arena at the board meeting of the Sport and Tourism Ministry to sum up the results for the year 2024 and tasks for 2025. According to him, joint events with the Russian Federation remain a priority for the sports industry of Belarus. In 2024, 540 such events were held, 165 were hosted by Belarus, 375 - by Russia.

"In preparation for the 2026 Winter Olympics, Belarusians won 11 medals at the second Winter All-Russian Spartakiad in winter sports," Aleksandr Baraulia noted. “We set the most ambitious plans for 2025, and I am sure that all of them will be fulfilled thanks to the joint constructive work of the Sport and Tourism Ministry, the National Olympic Committee, the Presidential Sports Club and national sports federations".
