Belarus win bronze at Games of the Future 2025 in Abu Dhabi

MINSK, 24 December (BelTA) - The Belarusian team MinskHouse has won bronze in the Phygital Shooter tournament at the Games of the Future 2025 in Abu Dhabi, BelTA has learned.

In the bronze-medal match, the Belarusians defeated the North Macedonian team EFP, 2-0. During the group stage, the Belarusian team beat the UAE’s E7 and Mexico’s Mexico Quetzales, both with a score of 3-0, but lost to Russia’s Donstu Esports 0-3. In the semifinals, the players of MinskHouse fought evenly with the eventual champion, another Russian team, xGoat, but lost 0-2. In the decisive gold medal match, xGoat proved stronger than Donstu Esports, winning 2-0.

In the Phygital Basketball tournament, Belarus’ FlashBasket failed to reach the semifinals, losing an intensely close quarterfinal match to Kazakhstan’s Astana with a score of 25-27. Prior to that, the Belarusians had defeated Vietnam’s Warriors 31-25 and Mexico Quetzales 35-24.

In the round of Last 16 of the Phygital Football tournament, Belarus’ WhiteBird fought evenly with Brazil’s CM Stars, but ultimately lost by a narrow margin, 1-2. In their first group stage match, the Belarusians confidently outplayed their opponents from the United Arab Emirates with a clean 3-0 victory, but then lost to Brazil’s CM Jardim 3-4.

Athletes from 65 countries took part in the competitions in the UAE capital, competing for medals across 11 sporting events. The total prize pool for the tournament in Abu Dhabi was $5 million. The inaugural Games of the Future were held in Kazan in 2024, and the next edition is scheduled for the summer 2026 in Astana.
