MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won 38 medals at the SCO Open Cup of Canoe Sprint 2026 in Zaslavl, Belarus, BelTA has learned.
On the third and final day of the tournament, three finals were held in four-person kayaks. Among athletes under 23, our Ihar Yakshyn, Ilya Filimonau, Dzianis Yarmolenka and Ivan Bulyha celebrated success. Among juniors under 18, the best result was shown by Belarusians Kiryl Sadouski, Artsiom Vaitseshyn, Stsiapan Salanovich and Aliaksei Dashchynski, while among the girls the first to finish were Marharyta Mekh, Safiya Komar, Lizaveta Baranava and Kira Dziamidovich.
In total, at the SCO Cup Belarusian rowers won 17 gold, 9 silver and 12 bronze medals. Kayaker Dzianis Yarmolenka became a three-time champion, winning in all events of the program (single, double and four-person). In all, more than 170 athletes from seven countries - Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam - took part in the competitions in Zaslavl.
