MINSK, 10 January (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed decree No.10 on preparing and hosting an ice hockey world championship on 10 January, the press service of the head of state told BelTA.

The document was developed taking into account the experience of hosting the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 and the Match Europe vs USA. The decree provides for an integral approach to dealing with matters concerning preparations for the ice hockey world championship that Belarus and Latvia will co-host in 2021.

The decree allows participants, organizers of the competitions, and foreign tourists to enter Belarus without visas. Accredited personnel will be able to use the mass transit system for free. Zero road toll is part of the package. The document also addresses the medical services participants and guests of the competitions may need, the use of state property, and the placement of public service advertisements.

Apart from that, the ice hockey world championship directorate is expected to get a zero-interest loan from the state budget. The decree also stipulates measures to reduce costs and secure excellent organization of the event.
