Belarus, Uzbekistan plant Allée of Friendship in Minsk

MINSK, 8 July (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov took part in a ceremonial tree-planting event to establish the Belarus-Uzbekistan Friendship Allée in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

The Allée of Friendship was created in the Park of the 900th anniversary of Minsk on Tashkentskaya Street. During the ceremony, the ministers planted rowan tree saplings and unveiled a commemorative plaque.

The inscription on the plaque reads: “Established as a symbol of the everlasting friendship, mutual respect and trust between the peoples of Belarus and Uzbekistan during the official visit of His Excellency President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Belarus.”

Speaking to the media, Maxim Ryzhenkov said the allée symbolizes the enduring friendship between the Belarusian and Uzbek peoples. “This friendship has stood the test of time and common responses to shared challenges and threats. Tashkentskaya Street, one of the beautiful corners of our capital, was named in honor of this friendship,” he said.

Maxim Ryzhenkov stressed that political, economic and humanitarian relations between Belarus and Uzbekistan are developing dynamically, with the two countries implementing a number of large-scale, mutually beneficial projects.

“We are expanding cooperation between our ministries, government bodies, organizations, enterprises and, most importantly, between our people. This allée will serve as another reminder of the strong friendship that unites our nations,” Maxim Ryzhenkov concluded.
