Belarus to take part in film festivals in China

MINSK, 9 July (BelTA) – A delegation of the Embassy of the People’ Republic of China in Belarus led by Counsellor Luo Zhanhui visited the National Film Studio Belarusfilm and met with its Director Vladimir Karachevsky to discuss the possible participation of Belarusian movies in Chinese film festivals, BelTA learned from the film studio.

“In recent years, we have established cooperation with China in the field of cinematography, and our relationship has grown from diplomatic relations into the ties of friendship and business. Two movies made by our studio – Tum Pabi Dum by Vyacheslav Nikiforov and Footprints on the Water by Aleksandra Anisimova took part in the 27th China Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival in the city of Foshan. We were invited to participate this year too,” Vladimir Karachevsky noted.

Vladimir Karachevsky spoke about cooperation with the partner of Belarusfilm - Amy International Company. “Together we organized the Days of Chinese Cinema in Minsk and established relations with many Chinese companies and organizations. Now we are in talks with two companies over the project to shoot a joint movie and are also discussing the participation in Hainan Island International Film Festival and the Shanghai International Film Festival,” Vladimir Karachevsky noted.

The guests were taken on a guided tour around film-making pavilions, introduced to the rich history of the studio and showed a trailer of the Kupala national project. “We were impressed by the Belarusian Film Studio. We hope our cooperation will develop more actively,” Counsellor Luo Zhanhui said.
