Belarus to host Days of Estonian Culture 2-6 November

MINSK, 2 November (BelTA) – Days of Estonian Culture will take place in Belarus on 2-6 November, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Culture Ministry.

The opening ceremony of the Days will be held at the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society on 3 November. The concert will feature the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Belarus (under the baton of People’s Artist of Belarus Alexander Anisimov), conductor Erki Pehk (Estonia) and pianist Mihkel Poll (Estonia).

On the same day Belarus’ Culture Minister Boris Svetlov is expected to hold talks with Vice Chancellor of the Estonian Culture Ministry Anne-Ly Reimaa.

A memorial concert to honor Estonian singer, People’s Artist of the USSR Georg Ots is scheduled for 4 November. The program of the 23rd Minsk International Film Festival Listapad will include a retrospective of Estonian films.

Estonian films 1944 and Tangerines will be screened in the Belarusian cinema houses on 5-6 November.

An official delegation of Estonia will visit Minsk to take part in the events of the Days. The delegation will include Vice Chancellor of the Estonian Culture Ministry Anne-Ly Reimaa, Deputy Head of the Foreign Relations Department at the Culture Ministry Madis Jarv and Director of the organization Eesti Kontsert Juri Leiten.
