MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) - Belarus’ stockpile of testing kits for new coronavirus currently stands at 65,880, Belarus’ Deputy Healthcare Minister Yelena Bogdan told reporters, BelTA has learned.

“As of today, the balance of testing kits (taking into account the 50,000 donated by one of our sponsors) is 65,880. Over the past 24 hours, our laboratories have performed almost 4,000 tests," Yelena Bogdan said.

A total of 49,843 coronavirus tests have been carried out so far.

The national research and practical center of epidemiology and microbiology has launched the production of such testing kits. The center makes about 1,000 kits per day. Vitebsk is also starting to work on the development of test systems.

Consideration is also being given to the use of additional laboratories for testing.
