Belarus’ Sasnovich to face Bencic in Hong Kong opener

MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) – Belarusian tennis player Aliaksandra Sasnovich will compete at the WTA-250 tournament in Hong Kong with a prize pool of $275,000, BelTA has learned.

In the round of 32 on 28 October, Belarus’ world No.111 will face Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic, the world No.11 and reigning Tokyo Olympic champion (start time 13:30 Minsk time). This will be their fourth meeting, with Sasnovich leading the head-to-head 2-1.Bencic is coming off a title win at the WTA-500 in Tokyo last week, where she beat Linda Noskova of Czechia 6-2, 6-3 in the final.

The Hong Kong tournament will conclude on 2 November.
