Belarus president talks about his ways to relax

MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko met with young artistes on 20 March and told them how he spends vacations and relaxes after workdays, BelTA has learned.

The head of state remarked that he does not get the luxury of genuine days off because he has no deputy. “Even if I get a week or, at most, ten days off as a so-called vacation, my schedule is still busy then. Twenty events and you start wondering whether it is a vacation or not. But I have to take care of them and can do so only in this period,” said Alexander Lukashenko.

The president mentioned his trip to the United Arab Emirates as an example. “I don’t like hot weather. It is not my thing. After a day and a half I get homesick,” admitted the head of state. “This is why I have certain meetings there, primarily relating to economy, the placement of some orders, getting to know some people, who will come here later and start some business.”

According to Alexander Lukashenko, he met representatives of Stadler Company, which started making railway cars in Belarus several years ago, during his working trip to Switzerland, which was combined with a brief vacation. “We had a meeting once, twice. They came here and opened a new enterprise. They are already ready to invest in a new manufacturing facility,” pointed out Alexander Lukashenko.

Asked how the head of state relaxes after busy workdays, Alexander Lukashenko mentioned sport. “Only sport can distract me. This is why I urge you to go in for sports. You will look good as a result. It is important for any person, all the more so for a young one,” he stressed.
