Belarus’ Pinsk, China’s Xiangyang sign agreement on cooperation

BREST, 17 April (BelTA) – An agreement on cooperation was signed between Belarus’ Pinsk and China’s Xiangyang on 17 April, BelTA learned from the website of the Pinsk City Hall.

The agreement envisages the development of mutually beneficial trade, economic, sci-tech and cultural cooperation between the two cities. The document was inked by Pinsk Mayor Andrei Mulyarchik and China’s Xiangyang Mayor Qin Jun.

The Chinese delegation comprised representatives of government bodies and businessmen. The signing ceremony was followed by a trip to Polesye Company.

Pinsk’s partner city is situated in Hubei Province that signed an agreement on cooperation with Brest Oblast a year ago. Xiangyang, which lies in the central part of China, is home to six million people. The city is about 2,800 years old. The city has a lot of landmarks related to the ancient period of the Chinese history. Xiangyang has well-eveloped agriculture, mechanical engineering, and electronics industries.
