MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) - Representatives of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus participated in the 7th European Evening of Sport in Brussels, BelTA learned from the NOC's press service.
The event was attended by NOC Secretary General, member of the EOC European Union and International Relations Commission Ksenia Sankovich, and NOC Press Secretary, member of the EOC Communications Commission Polina Ignatenko. In total, about 300 participants from 49 countries across the continent were invited to the meeting. The Evening of Sport provided an opportunity to exchange views and experiences with leaders and representatives of the Olympic movement, including members of the EOC commissions.
The keynote speaker of the event was International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry. “We know that sport brings real benefits to society. Research has shown that sport is the most effective and, at the same time, low-cost tool we have. It strengthens education, supports communities, improves health, and promotes inclusivity,” the IOC president said.
