Belarus’ Listapad film festival announces slogan

Belarus’ Listapad film festival announces sloganMINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – The 24th edition of the Minsk International Film Festival Listapad will be held from 3 to 10 November under the slogan Truth, Love, and Beauty, BelTA learned from the festival’s organizers.

The Minsk International Film Festival Listapad, the most high-profile and large-scale event of its kind in Belarus, has traditionally announced its visual design and slogan. It was Towards Inspiration in 2016, Eye of Pleasure in 2015, and What a Variety of Movies! in 2014.

“The slogan Truth, Love, and Beauty is a trinity which is the very essence of the cinematography. Cinema, as Jean-Luc Godard once said, gives us an opportunity to see. See the truth, as the image is always true itself. See the beauty of the world, which can hide in the cold reality and reveal itself in the movie. And, certainly, see love, the engine driving every plot, the feeling that can transform the whole human universe and is essential for great art,” said Igor Sukmanov, feature film program director, program director of children and youth film competition Listapadzik.

The 2017 edition of Listapad is about such movies: honest, passionate, and fascinating.

For the seventh year in a row, the Belarusian artist Alexander Kamenets will design the festival’s posters.

Listapad has been established by the Belarusian Culture Ministry and the Minsk City Hall in cooperation with the National TV and Radio Company, the National Film Studio Belarusfilm, and the Belarusian Union of Cinematographers. The festival is organized by the visual and performing arts center ART Corporation.
