MINSK, 4 August (BelTA) – Belarus leads the CIS and neighboring countries in terms of summer accommodation bookings by Russian tourists. This information was provided by the Russian Union of Travel Industry, based on data from its internal online booking system, BelTA has learned.
“The study showed that Belarus remains the leader in terms of trips by Russian tourists,” the Russian Union of Travel Industry stated. “Among the CIS and neighboring countries, Belarus accounts for more than half of all tourist accommodation bookings (54%).”
Abkhazia, with a 20% share, Kazakhstan (11%), Armenia (6%), and Uzbekistan (4%) also made the top five most popular destinations among Russians. Armenia demonstrated the highest booking growth rate this summer, with the number of orders increasing by 60% year-on-year. Demand also grew noticeably for Kyrgyzstan and Georgia.
The average cost of booking tourist accommodation per night is RUB7,200 in Belarus and Abkhazia, RUB7,300 in Armenia, and RUB5,400 in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The most affordable prices among popular neighboring destinations are recorded in Uzbekistan, where a night costs an average of RUB4,600. As a rule, travelers book tourist accommodation for two to three nights.
