MINSK, 12 January (BelTA) – Belarusian athlete Hanna Huskova has made the top ten at the women’s event of the FIS Freestyle Skiing Aerials World Cup stop in Lake Placid, USA, BelTA has learned.
Thirty-three athletes, including three Belarusians, took part in the women’s event. During qualifications, Hanna Huskova placed 11th, Anna Derugo – 16th, and Anastasiya Andryianava – 21st, with only the top 12 advancing further. In the semifinals, Huskova took ninth place with 76.86 points, falling just over six points short of the sixth-place finish needed to reach the final. Australia’s Danielle Scott won the event with a score of 95.88.
Hanna Huskova matched her December result, placing ninth again at the earlier Aerials World Cup stop in China. In the men’s event in the USA, Belarusian Uladzislau Vazniuk placed 20th, while his compatriot Ihar Drabiankou finished 29th among 37 participants. The final event of the FIS Freestyle Skiing Aerials World Cup will be held in Lake Placid on 12 January.
The 2025–26 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup serves as a qualifying event for the Winter Olympic Games in Italy. Preliminarily, Belarus has one quota spot in women’s freestyle aerials. The results of the qualification period will be summarized on 18 January.
