Belarus hosts around 100 national and international festivals and contests

MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – The list of international and national festivals, competitions, forums, festivals and plein airs financed by the national and (or) local budgets has been approved in Belarus. Resolution No. 263 of the Council of Ministers as of 2 April 2015 was published on the national legal Internet portal on 7 April, BelTA has learned.

The list includes 96 events. Among them are the Minsk International Film Festival Listapad, Yuri Bashmet Festival, the international festival of animated films Animaevka (Mogilev), International Festival of Arts Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk, the International Festival of Organ Music St. Sophia’s Bells (Polotsk), International Festival Belarusian Musical Autumn, International Festival of Modern Choreography (Vitebsk), International Festival of Orthodox Music Kolozha Blagovest (Grodno), International Festival of Student Theaters Teatralny Koufar, International Music Festival Minsk Spring, the National Festival of Belarusian Song and Poetry (Molodechno, Minsk Oblast), Alexandria Gathers Friends festival (village of Alexandria, Shklov District, Mogilev Oblast), the Day of Belarusian Written Language and Literature.

The list of biennial events includes the International Festival Vladimir Spivakov Invites, the International Drama Festival Panorama, the International Festival of Puppet Theaters, International Church Music Festival Mighty God (Mogilev), International Folklore Festival Motalskiya Prysmaki (village of Motal, Ivanovo District, Brest Oblast), International Festival of Historical Reconstructions Ancient Minsk, Festival of National Cultures (Grodno), the National Festival of Folklore Arts Beraginya (village of Oktyabrsky, Oktyabrsky District, Gomel Oblast), National Art Festival of Veterans' Groups and others.

The list also includes festivals, competitions and forums conducted once every three, and once every four years.

The resolution approves the regulation on the organization and conduct of international and national festivals, competitions, forums, festivals and plein airs, financed by the national and (or) local budgets.
