MINSK, 29 May (BelTA) – Deputy Director of the National Center for Health Improvement and Health Resort Treatment of the Population Aleksandr Tsai revealed which countries send visitors to Belarusian health resorts for wellness treatment in a recent episode of BelTA's project "The Nation Speaks".
The geography of Belarus’ wellness-service exports continues to expand. “If in 2024 we were visited by citizens of 68 countries, then in 2025 – already 80. This year we expect further growth. The majority of medical-wellness service exports come from citizens of the Russian Federation, around 93%. In second place are citizens of the Baltic states,” the deputy director noted.
Last year, 243,000 Russian citizens underwent treatment and wellness programs in Belarus, as well as 14,000 citizens of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Another 2-2.5% came from Spain, Italy, and Germany. Demand is growing rapidly from Azerbaijan (over 1,000 visitors last year), Kazakhstan, and China. The trend is visible both in the number of countries and in the increasing flow of guests from each of them.
“Our health resorts, natural therapeutic resources, mineral waters, and healing muds are in demand not only among Belarusians but also among foreign guests. The medical facilities of our resorts are well known far beyond the country. This is why they don’t need much active advertising today: word of mouth has already done its job. The visa-free regime also boosts demand from European citizens,” Aleksandr Tsai emphasized.
