Belarus’ further visa-free travel decisions to be coordinated with Russia

MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) – Belarus’ visa-free entry program can be extended in the future, but this will be subject to coordination with Russia, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said when answering a questions from the MPs.

The head of state believes that it was an important decision to launch a five-day visa-free entry, which helped increase an inflow of visitors to the country. The president stressed that Belarus has the security situation under control. “No need to reproach us. We control the situation in terms of security,” Alexander Lukashenko said referring to some comments from the Russian side. He noted that all related issues should be solved carefully working together to coordinate the positions. He also said that in about a year and a half Belarus may expand the list of countries whose nationals can visit Belarus visa-free, but this will not be done at the expense of security.
