Minsk tops CIS list of cities for virtual tours

"Cinemascope. Anthology": Iconic films of world cinema

The Cinemascope project jointly with the Anthology Club is presenting a new selection of iconic films of world cinema. The program of screenings (on Fridays at 19.00) is meant not only for sophisticated cinema lovers but also for those who would like to understand the art of cinema. Participants will be able to learn more about the history of cinema from early sound movies to modern arthouse, the basic principles of film analysis, learn "to watch movies better, read them better, and understand them better."

The Paints of Soul exhibition in the Belarusian Literature History Museum

The literary and art exhibition is dedicated to three anniversaries of talented women of Belarus at once - the 85th anniversary of Danuta Bichel-Zagnetova, the 75th anniversary of Raisa Borovikova and the 80th anniversary of the birth of Vera Verba. At the exhibition visitors can enjoy works of bright representatives of the Belarusian constellation of poetesses, who adorned and enriched the national literature of the second half of the 20th century. Artifacts on display also include sketches by People's Artist of the BSSR Arlen Kashkurevich and autographed books. Through them visitors will be able to see and feel the talent, soul, beauty of the words of women lyricists. In addition, the exposition will be complemented and decorated by well-known artists - Marina Erenburg, Veronika Vitkovskaya, Alla Kolosentseva, and Larisa Zarubina.

Valery Slauk’s exhibition The Magic of Graphics in Minsk

Illustrator and graphic artist Valery Slauk focuses on Belarusian and Slavic mythology. Many people have fallen in love with his illustrations to many folk tales and popular pieces of world and Belarusian literature such as Ivanhoe by Walter Scott, The Black Mill by Yuri Brezan, Nobleman Zawalnia by Jan Barshchevsky, Spring in Autumn by Vladimir Korotkevich. Dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the artist, the exhibition will show the magic of graphics in all the diversity of traditional characters of world and Belarusian mythology, including charismatic cats, insects, magicians, house sprites, giants, mermaids, nixies…

Shepherds' festival in Grodno District

Since ancient times, St. George's Day has been one of the main holidays of the spring cycle in the Belarusian folk calendar. According to legends, George is the patron saint of shepherds, so it was on this May day that peasants drove cattle to pasture for the first time after winter. In Grodno Oblast, there is even a legend about how St. George, having outsmarted Satan in the struggle for oats, became the patron saint of shepherds and horses. On this day shepherds used to go to church to offer prayers to St. George and peasants used to cook an oat starch drink. This year, Grodno District will reenact the holiday of shepherds and the folk rite and present a folklore and animation program.

Chris Norman in Minsk

The legendary voice from the 1970s and the vocalist of the popular band Smokie Chris Norman returns to Minsk with a solo program. The band from the British Bradford, in which he performed with Terry Attlee, gained phenomenal popularity in Europe and the United States. After the breakup of the group, Chris began a solo career. His first hit Midnight Lady beat all previous achievements. The artist is still popular around the world. In 2021 he released two albums at once - Baby I Miss You and Just a Man, the songs from which he will also perform in Minsk. It is expected that the program will include both the golden hits of the Smokie group and the most iconic compositions of the singer.

Program ''Vacation Without Socks?!'' in the Belarusian State Circus

With the summer season and the longest school holidays approaching, the Belarusian State Circus has unveiled the new program "Vacation Without Socks?!" The highlight of the show is a flamboyant clown trio "No Socks", the winner of many awards of prestigious circus festivals in Hungary, France, Russia, Israel, Spain and Monte Carlo. In addition to sparkling humor from the trio the audiences will also be treated to unique circus performances of aerial gymnasts, tightrope walkers, horse riders, dogs on skateboards, am unusual game of billiards, a high school of horseback riding and even boxing with kangaroos from tamer Anton Svetlakov.

Irina Yeromkina’s Night at Bolshoi Theater of Belarus

Odette-Odillia, Carmen, Juliet, Phrygia, Rogneda, Paquita, Venus, Isolde... For 25 years of her service at the Bolshoi Theater, People's Artist of Belarus Irina Yeromkina has performed over 40 roles in the world's most famous ballets, including Spartacus, Carmen Suite, Creation of the World, Anna Karenina... Today the ballet dancer - the mother of three! - continues her successful career. She confesses that the stage is what “gives her an incredible flow of energy”. Irina Yeromkina’s night at the Bolshoi Theater will feature Denis Klimuk (St. Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre named after Leonid Yakobson), Honored Artist of Russia Daria Pavlenko and Vyacheslav Gnedchik (Mariinsky Theater).

EMIN LIVE 2022: Minsk Tour

One of the most romantic singers of Russian pop music and winner of numerous awards, EMIN returns to Minsk with a new show. Over the past years which proved to be quite complicated for many artists, he has organized the Zhara festival in his native Baku, released new compositions and performed duets, got the Golden Gramophone Award for the song Devochka Moya [My Girl]. The program of the Minsk show will feature new and also well-known hits Nezhnaya [Tender], Devochka Moya [My Girl], MMM, Still, Boomerang, Good Love, as well as a number of premieres and remixes.

New Name: Nikita Belko. Step into the Future

The Presidential Orchestra kicks off a new series of concerts, New Name, celebrating young talents. The main hero in May will be soloist Nikita Belko, a superfinalist of the TV show X-Factor Belarus, the winner of the Igor Krutoy Academy show Battle of Talents, a finalist of the I am singing contest, and a participant of the TV show Voice. Children. This young singer has already worked in the teams of star coaches Valery Meladze and Olga Buzova. Now he has another challenge - the first solo concert with a live orchestra. The evening will be held in the format of a confidential dialogue with the audience, during which the singer will talk about himself, share memories about his creative career and, of course, present his best compositions.

Black Blues of Harlem: Dorrey Lin Lyles and Zane Massey in Minsk

Black Blues of Harlem in Minsk will feature the world-renowned jazz and soul-blues stars - African-American diva Dorrey Lin Lyles and New York tenor saxophonist Zane Massey. Dorrey Lin Lyles is a symbol of modern soul blues, while Zane Massey, a son of the legendary New York jazz trumpeter, is the musical heir to John Coltrane and Miles Davis. They come from different generations and styles of jazz, but both are able to turn their music into a passionate celebration of life and love. In Minsk, Dorrey Lin Lyles and Zane Massey will be accompanied by the musicians of the Forte-Jazz-Quartet.

The 7th open festival of brass music Fanfares of Friends

The unique festival Fanfares of Friends gathers professional musicians from the best orchestras of the country every two years and is a bright holiday for residents of Porechye. This year’s program promises to delight lovers of live instrumental music. The first day - ''Constellation of melodies of foreign friends'' - invites you to a solemn procession of orchestras, concert performances of bands and a fashion show where guests can enjoy a breathtaking show of majorettes. Groups from all over Grodno Oblast will demonstrate their performing skills on the second festival day.

The International expo HoReCa. RetailTech will become a point of attraction for catering, trade, hotel and tourism businesses of Belarus. The main sections of the expo are restaurant business, foods, ingredients and drinks, tea and coffee, RetailTech, the world of hotel and tourism, franchising. Visitors can also expect delicious interactive locations - Culinary Show, the Free Kitchen festival of author's dishes from foods of local producers and farms, the pizza championship Pizza Expo, and the confectionery festival Cake/Pie/Bun HoReCa.

The 20th international festival of children's creativity Golden Bee

The children's festival Golden Bee, which was named in 1996 after the image of a bee on the ancient coat of arms of the city of Klimovichi, will turn an anniversary page in its history. Over the years the international festival has become a real springboard for the careers of many young performers, including Junior Eurovision Song Contest winners Ksenia Sitnik and Andrey Kunets. By tradition the main program will include competitions in vocal art (pop and folk singing), choreographic art (pop, modern, folk stage dance) and fine arts (painting and graphics). Participants are young talents from 9 to 18 years old.

The Night of the Ad Eaters in Minsk

For the first time the Night of the Ad Eaters will be accompanied by the Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus while and the program of the party will include classical music from the greatest composers Grieg, Rossini, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, and Offenbach. The audience will enjoy the advertising of a Japanese brand to the overture to Rossini's opera The Thieving Magpie, the aesthetics of Swiss ice cream to the waltz of Leo Delibes from the ballet Coppelia, and the true gift will be Grieg's composition "In the cave of the mountain king" from the suite Peer Gynt... The culmination will be a commercial by Lars Von Trier, who brought success to the No.2 waltz from Shostakovich's Jazz Suite known as the Russian Waltz.
