Belarus’ event tourism catalog presented at Proftour 2017 expo in Minsk

MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) – Proftour 2017 is designed to showcase the country's tourism industry. On display are various tours, and also event, industrial, medical and health, sport, scientific-educational, agro-and eco-tourism, Mikhail Orda, the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB), said at the opening ceremony of the Proftour 2017 tourism expo, BelTA has learned.

“Our country is very rich in traditions. All kinds of events take place here every year, many of which we have not even heard. Among them are very interesting festivals, themed celebrations, shows, competitions, exhibitions, which are unmatched in the world. This is why Belarustourist travel company has compiled the catalog of event tourism in Belarus,” Mikhail Orda said. He believes that the tourist offers will be interesting both to Belarusian citizens and foreign visitors.

For her part, Director General of Belarustourist Lyudmila Senkovskaya noted that the expo is larger than a year ago, and presents very interesting tourist products. She said that she is looking forward to the launch of visa free entry on 12 February. “We are ready for this and understand that it means a lot for our country. With this in mind, we have designed the itineraries and programs. They combine travel and services by the health farms run by trade unions,” she noted.

Lyudmila Senkovskaya added that the company has developed 5-day programs for foreign tourists. They cost about €700 and include excursions, meals and accommodation.

Proftour 2017 will be running until 3 February. It features domestic and foreign travel agencies, including those from Bulgaria, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, and Ukraine.
