Belarus clinches five medals at FINA World Cup Doha 2017

MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won five medals at the 2017 FINA Swimming World Cup in Doha, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Swimming Federation.

On the second competition day Ilya Shimanovich collected bronze in the men’s 100m breaststroke event. His time is 56.76 seconds. Gold went to Cameron van der Burgh of South Africa who clocked 56.11 seconds. Second to touch in was Kirill Prigoda of Russia (56.31 seconds).

Pavel Sankovich of Belarus clocked 50.17 seconds to take bronze in the men’s 100m butterfly heat. Gold was collected by Chad le Clos of the South Africa (50.17 seconds). Third was Tom Shields of the United States (50.30 seconds).

As BelTA earlier reported, Ilya Shimanovich clocked 2:04.77 to claim silver in the men’s 200m breaststroke event and finished third in the men’s 50m breaststroke event. Pavel Sankovich clinched silver in the men’s 100m medley event.

The next FINA World Cup is scheduled to take place in Beijing on 10-11 November.
