MINSK, 25 July (BelTA) - Belarusian athletes won seven medals on the third day of the 2026 Paddle Europe Junior and U23 Sprint Championships, BelTA has learned.
The continental championship is held on the course in Szeged, Hungary. The final event of the morning program on 25 July was the C2 Under 23 Men 1000m final. The race was won by Belarusians Hleb Dziomin and Kanstantsin Rohau, who edged out crews from the Czech Republic, Russia, Hungary, Germany, Romania, Italy, Poland, and Spain.
In total, on Saturday, Belarusian athletes competed in ten 1000m finals and won seven medals (2 gold, 4 silver, 1 bronze). Gold went to Dzianis Yermolenka (K1 Under 23 Men 1000m). Silver medalists were Yuliya Khodzka (K1 Junior Women 1000m), Heorhi Varazhun (K1 Junior Men 1000m), Maksim Murauski (C1 Under 23 Men 1000m), and the K2 crew of Ihar Yakshyn and Ilia Filimonau (U23). Bronze was claimed by Anton Abtseshka and Mikita Charamnykh (C2 Junior Men 1000m).
On Sunday, Belarusian athletes will compete in at least 23 finals, with the possibility of qualifying for six more medal races in the evening semifinals today. Athletes from 38 countries are taking part in the 2026 Paddle Europe Junior and U23 Sprint Championships in Szeged.
