Belarus, China in talks over joint film shooting

MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) – Belarus and China are in talks of shooting a joint film, Belarus Culture Minister Boris Svetlov said at the opening ceremony of the Chinese Film Festival on 23 November, BelTA has learned.

According to the minister, a regular exchange of Culture Days demonstrates the interest of the two states in expanding cultural cooperation. At the same time he added that the Belarusian-Chinese cultural ties are not limited to cinematography alone. “The Belarusian-Chinese cultural cooperation has been steadily developing. Today almost every week we host various China-related cultural events and hold meetings with Chinese delegations,” said the minister.

The participants of the Chinese Film Festival presentation were also greeted by Director of the National Confucius Institute at the Belarusian State University Alexander Gordei. He believes that the Days of Belarusian Cinema and Days of Chinese Cinema are important events in the cultural cooperation of the two countries.

The Chinese Film Festival is underway at the Tsentralny Cinema House and will last through 27 November. The films are screened with the Russian subtitles.
